Skin Care Products: August 2014 – current

How the summer was amazing and gorgeous, it had to come to an end. Though I love summer (I would choose hot weather over the cold at any time), summer gave me dark spots (randomly) on my face. Tsk… =(   Alright, I wouldn’t blame summer exactly, maybe because I was careless about my skin. I didn’t really use any serum at night, didn’t apply sunscreen on my face during the day, and so on –

When I woke up one day in the beginning of August 2014, I was surprised to find freckles/dark spots. Honestly, I think freckles are super cute but on me, it looked more like I had random spots on my face; let’s just say that it is not Lucy Liu cute. On the right side of my face, it’s located near my high cheek bone while on my left side of my face… it’s actually right by my nose. *Note: they are kind of dispersed out too.

After shopping around, these are the products that I am using.

La Roche-Posay Pigmentclar Serum

Pigmentclar Serum 2 Pigmentclar Serum

I apply this serum at night after cleansing my face. I use about 1.5-2 pumps and would apply it by using the small circle gesture around my face while ending it with some light dabs.

Result: N/A. I guess there are some changes in terms of brightness and smoothness, but the dark spots seem to be lingering around at full color. I know the serum is not supposed to ‘eliminate all dark spots’ but it is supposed to help reduce the appearance of it, yet, I have not seen a difference. But then again, everyone’s skin is different. I will give it another month to see if I can notice any changes.

Biotherm Aquasource Gel

AquasourceAquasource 2

This product is lovely. It applies like H2O, it’s not sticky, has a light perfume scent to it, and most importantly; it gives your face a deep hydration kick. Just use the Aquasource Gel like you would with any other moisturizer.

Shu Uemura Anti/Oxi Skin Refining Cleansing Oil

Skin Purifier 3

Skin Purifier

Skin Purifier 2

This is one of the best cleansers I had ever used . This product is gold. If you are thinking “wouldn’t that cause crazy breakouts? Gross, that would add extra oil to my face. Isn’t that going to clog up all my pores?” the answer is “No”. I had the same thoughts too but when I tried the cleansing oil on my hand, it was like “wow, this cleansing oil can make my hand this soft without any trace of grease”. Depending on what type of oil you choose, it contains specific properties. Of course I am not telling you to go ahead and lather your heart out in “nameofproduct” oil, but do investigate the different types of beneficial oils there are in the market today. For the Shu Uemura Anti/Oxi oil, you would massage it all over your DRY face first, then rinse. As water contacts the oil, it turns into a milky like color/texture.

Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills

Hi all!

I apologize for the non-existent posts lately so here I am to do a post about the products that I am currently using for my eyebrows.Anastasia Products

Eyebrows are extremely important (at least to me). Eyebrows can change your age, make-up look, mood, etc. Some days, I like thicker brows, while some; I like my brows ‘slender’. None the less, I have been using Anastasia products for the past month and I have been quite satisfied with the goods.

Perfect Brow Pencil – Dark Brown

I primarily use this pencil for those quick brow applications. You know, those days when you wake up and you need some ‘brows’ before you head out for some errands. I find this pencil super easy to use and it blends really well. When I say ‘super easy to use’, you do not need to apply meticulous precision to shape out your brows or spend a lot of time blending out the color. You just need to apply it, brush out the beginning of your brow and you’re good to go.

Perfect Brow Pencil

Brow Wiz Skinny Brow Pencil – Dark Brown

I use this pencil when I want a more unified and clean-cut look. This pencil, by any means, is not hard to use either but it’s just that the tip is wonderfully skinny; it allows awesomely nice sharp outlines to be created. Some days, I like to apply this skinny brow pencil to the tail of my brow and use the regular pencil to fill in the rest.

Brow Wiz

Brow Powder Duo – Dark Brown

After mentioning the two different pencils that I use, this powder duo is like the ribbon that goes on top of an awesomely wrapped gift. This powder can be worn alone or it can be used as a filler to fill out those sparse areas. After using either perfect brow pencil or brow wiz, I like to brush out my brows and then go back in there with this powder duo set to soften and ‘naturalize’ my brows.

I am still on the lookout for ‘the shade’.

Candied Apples Inspired

Hi ~~

As we all know, Halloween is just around the corner! So in spirit of things, here is a little nail design that I did inspired by candied apples. Please don’t mind the dry chapped hands that I have: I took the photos quickly and forgot to moisturize =(.

Products Used:
Sally Hansen: Cherry Red, Black Out
Red Glitter Flakes
Sally Hansen: Strengthening Top Coat

Ps. The Sally Hansen top coat that I used … it’s a so-so product to me.

Revlon & Maybelline

I finally bought myself a lovely shade of coral for my lips. Again, this is not really a haul, just some things that I wanted to try out. My current concealer isn’t that great (it’s the Cover Girl one). So, I decided to try Revlon. I have used Revlon products on a couple of photo-shoots before and the quality was not bad at all. And of course, I loveeeee DollyWink! It gives me great lengths on my eyelashes but sometimes, the volume that I want is not all there. So I purchased the Volum’Express Mascara.

P.s. As I was writing this post, I realized that the mascara I have bought is in “Glam Brown”. Stupid as I am, I will have to go and exchange it for the Black. =(

Mini Haul

I haven’t really bought anything (personal goodies) for a while, and so I decided to make a little purchase. I went to Shoppers Drug Mart and bought a couple of things.

I really like the Quo Primer (bought it many times before), so I bought it again. I wanted a nice light sunscreen for my face and so I decided to try the La Roche-Posay Face Sunscreen with 60 SPF. So far? the fluid sunscreen is not thick or hard to apply. It actually blends really nicely. (I figured, hey… I should start protecting my skin to prevent dark spots, aging, etc).

Then I headed over to Sephora because I wanted a BB Cream. I know I know, that there are tons of BB creams (in fact, there are CC creams now). I picked up the Diorskin Nude BB Creme in 002. I love it. I mean, I’ve used the Diorskin Airflash Spray Foundation before and it was lovely (I am a huge fan of Dior cosmetics). This BB creme is not thick or hard to apply. I find it really hydrating and light. It gives off this nice dewy finish.

And as you know Sephora lovers, you always get a free sample at the end of your purchase. They gave me a sample of the Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser. I know that the Boscia Black Mask works rather well, so I am going to see how great this cleanser is.
